The life cycle of domains consists of several successive states of domain status. They have different terms and limitations for the domain to work.
- State 0 – the domain is free and available for registration
- State 1 – domain is registered, whois query gives “OK” status. Possible period of registration: 1-10 years.
- State 2 – the domain is suspended, whois query gives the status “HOLD”, there is an opportunity to renew it at the usual price. Action is 30 days.
- State 3 – domain registration has expired, whois query gives the status “RedemptionPeriod”. The domain is stopped and its restoration will cost more than the normal price. Upon restoration, the domain will be renewed for one year. The duration of this condition is 28-30 days.
- State 4 – the domain is marked for deletion, whois query gives the status “PendingDelete”. At this time, the domain is not active and there is no way to restore it. After this period, the domain goes on removal, and within 5-15 days to become free for registration.
Ukrainian domain zones:
- transfer is available 60 days after registration or renewal, at least 17 days before the end of the domain in “OK” status;
- HOLD status is valid for 30 days;
- RedemptionPeriod status is valid for 30 days;
- PendingDelete status is valid for 5 days;
- the possibility of a new registration is available after 65 days from the expiration date of the domain.

International domain zones:
- transfer is available 60 days after registration or renewal, at least 17 days before the end of the domain in “OK” status;
- HOLD status is valid for 30-45 days;
- RedemptionPeriod status is valid for 30 days;
- The PendingDelete status is valid for 5-15 days;
- possibility of a new registration is available 60-95 days from the expiration date of the domain
