Sometimes it is necessary to hide the data of a domain owner in whois of this domain. The Data Protection or WHOIS – Privacy Protect option is used for this purpose. It is available for international domains com, net, org, biz, info, name, mobi, cc, tv, bz, ws. For Ukrainian domains this option is enabled by default.
When you enable this option, all the data in the whois of the domain is replaced by anonymous data, and you are still the owner of the domain, just your information is hidden from the public domain.
In order to activate the option you need:
- select the desired domain in the billing in the “Domain names” section.
- Click the configure button, click on the “Data protection” option and check the checkbox there to enable.
